Human Factors Engineer (Contractor)





We’re looking for someone who is passionate about user-centered product design and creating intuitive consumer/medical products that meet user needs, reduce use-related risk, and enhance the user experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, execute and report on early-stage research (contextual inquiry) through user validation research (summative) on physical and/or digital products
  • Translate results of research into actionable design recommendations, and draft/contribute to human factors documents, such as task analyses, uFMEA, use specification, and HFU/UE reports.
  • Ensure that FDA & global usability regulatory standards- such as IEC-62366-1: 2015, ANSI/AAMI HE75, and EU MDR – are being met.
  • Interact with a wide range of user groups (from patients to surgeons) in a variety of use environments.


  • Advanced degree in human factors, HCI, biomedical engineering, industrial engineering, cognitive psychology, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on, professional, and applied human factors engineering experience in product design.
  • A detailed understanding of the FDA and IEC medical device development HF standards


  • Full-time position for 12-16 weeks
