User Experience (UX) design in its most encompassing definition involves all aspects of the end-user interaction with a company, its products and services.

This definition by author and designer Don Norman certainly covers all of the bases of user experience, but in practice it isn't the domain of one person or even one department. So when we use the phrase UX design, what do we typically mean? For digital UX designers, it is typically the intersection of Information Architecture, Interaction Design and Visual Design. Our work intersects with that of design researchers, industrial designers, human factors and design engineers to develop products that are safe, effective and delightful to use.
